So as promised in my previous post here is a list of the games we are working on for the remainder of this year along with some short descriptions. I am a man of my word :o)
Buggle Stars
You play a small round creature called a ‘Buggle’ (using the arrow keys) in a platformer type game where the goal is not to make it from A to B or rescue a princess but to collect stars placed around the level in the quickest possible time. The game will be single player and feature around 20 distinct levels containing spring pads, water, cannons, portals and loads of other cool things to play with.
Desktop Armada II
This will be both a single and multi player naval warfare game. All the familiar ships in Desktop Armada will be included as well as the addition of a submarine and aircraft carrier. We will be making it possible to change the speed of any ship in play as well as to equip ports with guns or increase their production speeds. The single player game will have a much improved AI for skirmishes and the multi player version will let you pimp your ships :o) We are also considering team co-op and team head-to-head modes.
Farragomate
A multi player game where you have to arrange words to make up sentences called ‘Farragos’ this game will support up to 12 players per room and people can join and leave as and when they like. The time you have to create your Farragos as well as vote on your favourite will all be against the clock. This should be a fun place to hang out if you have a few spare minutes (or hours) and are the sort of person who gets a kick from arranging those magnetic words on fridges to make funny, clever or naughty comments.
Minions
A real time multi player RTS game where you control a single unit as part of a team to push back the enemy and destroy their base before they take down yours. You will have several units to select from when the game starts, each with their own unique abilities and upgrades which you can improve on as you play. This is by far our most ambitious multi player game to date!
Desktop Wars
Turning the table (or desk) around, Desktop Wars enables players to create their own creep armies and attack each others mazes. This will be a large scale persistent multi player game based on the famous DTD. Different ‘worlds’ will have different properties for all towers and creeps to keep you on your toes!
Desktop Tower Defense II
New towers, new creeps, new graphics - it’s like a whole new game. We are also working on a story mode where you battle over several desktops all with unique layouts and tower / creep balancing which should make tailoring your strategy to each level a must. Another key feature will be co-op multiplayer where you must help your friends or allies to defend a desktop from the pesky creeps.
And there is more
We have four more games in development that we don’t want to give too much away on right now, but you can be sure this will be the first place you will hear about them so sign up to our RSS feed or bookmark us and check back now and then.
Oh and as I mentioned in my previous post, all these new games will be available for any flash game portal to host, if you manage such a site please feel free to contact us to be emailed as soon as they are released.
Any comments or questions? Please do just ask.

They all sound so exciting to play!
AHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I’ll have to retake my freshman year of college.
August 5th, 2008 at 3:16 am
Will DTD2 replace MPDTD Training in CC2.0 ?
And will the fun and challenge modes be brought back ?
August 5th, 2008 at 4:25 am
Wow, these sound amazing! I can’t wait. :0)
August 5th, 2008 at 4:32 am
I’m so excited… you have no idea!
August 5th, 2008 at 6:35 am
I hope sencerd is as ambitious with the social aspect of the site
thanks for the news guys!!!
August 5th, 2008 at 6:39 am
I have comments on all the games.
Buggle Stars
Sounds cool. I can’t wait till the final version is released.
Desktop Armada II
This looks like lots of fun too. But I’m also wondering if people will ever play the original once this is released. It’ll have to be very different from DA 1 to get people to play it. I think it would be a good idea to combine the two games and be able to play Desktop Armada in ‘classic’ mode if you want to play DA 1, rather than having them as separate games. Another question: Will this be the ‘Pirates’ game that was mentioned previously? Or is it different?
Farragomate
Love this game. I hope the conversion to a casual game goes smoothly.
Minions
*froths at mouth like every other member of the CC*
Are the graphics for this game near finished or is it still gray rectangles?
Desktop Wars
Sounds very cool. I know I’m not the first person to say this but I think this game could take some of its cues from Creep Smash.
Desktop Tower Defense II
Again my comment about DA II applies. Will this game draw players away from the original, simpler, DTD? Persistence sounds very cool though.
And there is more
Right. There were other games mentioned in the post from April, weren’t there? The “match three with a twist”, the “billiards game”, and the “physics-based puzzle game”. Not to mention the 2 MP pirates games (if that wasn’t pertaining to DA 2.) One last question: Which games will 3rd party developers be working on? Other than that, can’t wait to see what’s brewing.
Happy coding guys!
August 5th, 2008 at 6:45 am
Good work! I’m so excited about all these games, you have no idea!
August 5th, 2008 at 6:47 am
Thanks for the comments, the last 4 games are not the match3, billiards or pirate games. We have come up with 4 even better ideas since then
Sure DTD2 and DA2 will take people away from version 1, but then every game update (Quake 2, Halo 3 etc) does. I am sure people will be playing DTD1.5 for some time yet! :o)
August 5th, 2008 at 8:42 am
No pirates game? ;_;
I’ve got an idea on how to attract new members.
After someone finishes a game on a different site, show a message that says: “Like this game? Head on over to casualcollective.com to play it without annoying, obtrusive advertising!”
August 5th, 2008 at 9:43 am
Yey!! So much exciting new games to look forward to.
August 5th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
OMFG dude this sounds f*cking SWEET! So…my question is will we really and truly see any of this stuff including CC2.0 soon. I seirously had a dream the other night about DA2 where you had aircraft and could customize the guns on the ships and just remembered it reading this. (I was wanting a new DA so bad because the original game is awesome but needs to be expanded). I’m still not sure after reading description of Minions how the game is going to be but it sounds like this is fixing to become the new ‘popular’ game like MPDTD has been. It seems overly ambitious to have three RTS games based on the same IP, but…well…who can argue with a new DTD etc. I really love casual collective, I mean it needs work but to me this is THE site to play games, more fun than games they have in stores now.

Glad to see some new games!
An idea for a game that I always liked but has been offline for many years now is similar to your “Farragomate.” It was called Acrophobia. I know it’s available on uproar.com now, but nobody every seems to be online. If you could design something similar to “Farragomate” using acronyms to create your own sentences, I think the CC has a strong support of gamers to get into it. Does anyone else remember this game?
Thanks for reading!

Cool, such simple sign up on this blog
Anyways, let’s do this WormyRocks Style…
Buggle Stars
More stages is always a nice gift >.>
Desktop Armada II
Loving the idea of improved AI and more units, it’s like a Real-Time strategy PC game, but you can play your CC buddies in it and in a much more casual setting
Farragomate
I actually thought this game would be the game I would be looking most forward to, cause I’m weird I guess…
Minions
Yay, a RTS game, we like those, and it’s nice having a game on the collective that’s longggg
Desktop Wars
oooo, a persistent desktop game, very cool idea, we’ll see some people addicted to this = )
Desktop Tower Defense II
New creeps, yay… >.> Maybe even a blood tower that was talked about in the cc interview a billion years ago.
And there is more
Ya, bookmark

I’m probably most interested to see how Desktop Wars is made
August 5th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
This sounds very cool!
But, is it possible that I’ve seen (and played) Ferragomate on an other side? It sounds familiar to me …

August 5th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Cool.
August 5th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
I’m not exactly sure where to post this, and since it is mentioned here.. I’ll ask it here.
@Buggle Stars
has enough feedback been received for the last 13(or 12) maps needed to finish the game.. or do you still require our assistance?
August 9th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
I don’t like the idea of making the games hostable at other sites, that means you’d release the code and that would make it easier for someone to figure out how to hack it.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
No, they just host the SWF, they don’t get any code.
August 12th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I can’t wait to see some new games.
How about a multiplayer race one in the future?
August 13th, 2008 at 12:02 am
We do have plans for a MP race game… with a twist
August 13th, 2008 at 2:20 am
Wow! If only all of them would be released at the same time.
August 15th, 2008 at 3:19 am
Desktop wars and minions seems by far to be the coolest imo.
August 18th, 2008 at 2:35 am
[...] Im neuen Blog des Casual Collectives steht zu lesen. Desktop Tower Defense II [...]
August 21st, 2008 at 11:59 am
I can contribue also a Tower Defense browser game. On towerwars.org you can check it out. Its free and makes a lot of fun. Only 2 months old.
August 27th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
hey, I’m excited about the games, but how many of them will be non-subscriber availible. I don’t plan on subscribing cause I’m broke D:
and also, from your previous post, how hard will the virtual money be to get without buying? (I think it sounds like a great idea though)
any answers will be appreciate, thanks.
